From Brandon Smith, TDK's "intercollegiate director":
This is historic! (At least I think.)
Whether or not the honors programs in Ohio's Miami Valley have ever collaborated before, it's certainly been rare. Who better to end that than us?
Our first event is this Friday at the Bible building, and I'm totally psyched. In case the e-mail invitation went by the wayside, it's at 6:30 this Friday, Nov. 14 -- somewhere in the Bible building. I'm looking at getting the youth ministries room, but the bureaucracy of event planning on this campus is epic. (Not to knock the people at event services -- they've been very helpful.) Anyway, you all will get another e-mail soon, telling you exactly where it will be.
Did you know a large pizza at Little Caesars in Xenia is only $5? Breadsticks are $2. That translates into the potential for a sea of pizza. Be there or be... at Chuck's.
No seriously, all of you probably realize the potential for us to reach out to honors students from other schools. Who knows what they think of us (I've heard SOOO many outside interpretations of the stereotypical Cedarville student), but that doesn't matter. What matters is that we get out and show people who we really are: lovers of Christ, but also of knowledge, and of people.
You have a great opportunity this Friday to do that -- because you don't even have to "get out." They're coming here.
Any questions? brandon.smith@cedarville.edu. See you there!
